Updated: 2018-01-17

Sajualumootil George, Human Resources Director of Microsoft Asia Pacific, received the first confirmation letter on foreign high-end talents in China on Jan 2.

George was always on business trip to China. He said he was very pleased to receive a multiple-entry visa of 5 to 10 years. He believes that the entry-exit facilitation measures brought by the implementation of the new foreign talent visa system in China will attract more outstanding foreign talents to the country.

Two foreign experts invited by Tsinghua University have reportedly also obtained confirmation letters. One is Professor Chonggu from Purdue University; the other is Professor Soibelman Lucio from the University of Southern California. Lucio was selected in the fifth group under the Thousands Talent Program for foreign experts. Applications from a number of senior executives of multinational corporations, such as the President and CEO of Siemens AG, have also been received.

Beijing and nine other provinces and cities launched the foreign talent visa system on Jan 1. The Beijing Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs will publicize and interpret the foreign talent visa system so as to enhance awareness of its positive influence.
