SAFEA deputy head holds talks with Japanese delegation

A delegation from the Japanese Corporate Institute of Ethics Research visited the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs on Apr 9.

The two sides exchanged views on the desert greening project in China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region funded by the institute and people-to-people relations between China and Japan.

Xia Mingjiu, member of the CPC Leading Group at the Ministry of Science and Technology and deputy administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, met with Toshiaki Maruyama, head of the Japanese Corporate Institute of Ethics Research, and spoke highly of efforts made by the institute over the past 18 years to plant trees in Inner Mongolia's Hobq and Ulan Buh deserts.

Toshiaki Maruyama said that Japan has sent 69 teams to China and planted 440,000 trees in the deserts. The institute will continue this activity to enhance communication and understanding between the two countries.
