The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) held a concert at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing on April 25.

More than 1,200 foreign experts and representatives from different sectors enjoyed the performance given by the China Philharmonic Orchestra.

Zhang Jianguo, vice minister of science and technology and head of the SAFEA, delivered a keynote speech at the start of the concert. He said that the reconstituted Ministry of Science and Technology’s upcoming integration of the responsibilities of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the SAFEA shows that the Chinese government attaches great importance to scientific and technological advancement and innovation and development.

SAFEA will improve services for foreign talents coming to China, open up green channels for foreign talents to work in China, and create a good innovative and entrepreneurial environment for foreign talents.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up, by which China and the world as a whole have benefited. Economic globalization is an irreversible historical trend.
