Zhang Jianguo, deputy minister of science and technology and administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Experts (SAFEA), led a delegation to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he held talks with Ambassador Gil Haskel, leader of Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV), on Oct 21.

The two sides reviewed the history of their cooperation and explored future developments, agreeing that extensive cooperation should be carried out in public management, research and the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Haskel said he hopes that the two sides will strengthen coordination and spread Israeli involvement to underdeveloped provinces in China with Beijing as the center.

Zhang appreciated the fruitful cooperation between the two sides over the past 20 years and said that he hopes that it will grow closer.

Regarding the Israeli proposal to establish a regular meeting mechanism, Zhang suggested to include such cooperation into China-Israeli ministerial dialogue mechanism, so that more support could be obtained. The Israeli side responded positively to this suggestion.
