The Beijing National Laboratory for Condensed Matter Physics (BNLCP) convened the 3rd meeting of the 1st BNLCP Council lately.
BNLCP boasts a growing number of high quality research findings. In 2006, the lab had 46 papers published on Nature, Science, PRL, JACS and other top-notch journals, hitting an all-time high. Among the published, 25 are first authored by BNLCP who is also applying for 8 patents.
The Council meeting held that the national lab was an important research base for China’s innovation system. It was essential that the lab enjoy intensified and steady support so as to focus on long-term, sustainable, and systematic research that met the demand of major national strategies. Efforts should also be made to identify effective mechanisms that fostered its rapid, healthy and balanced development.
