On February 18th-19th, 2008, the Office of New Material under the 863 Program held in Beijing the inaugural meeting and the 1st work conference of the general expert panel for major project “New Panel Display Technology”. 

The meeting announced the name list of the expert panel and issued them letters of appointment. Then the experts discussed the working system of the panel, the work division and their focus for the near future.

The new panel display technology is a stress in the Outline of the National Medium- and Long-term S&T Development Program. It serves as a strong industrial driving force and is strategically important.
