The 7th Joint Conference for Directors of National High-Tech Zone (NHZ) Management Committee, with the theme of “system innovation for NHZs and development strategy in the new period”, was held in Xiangfan, Hubei Province on Oct 27th.

The conference summarized the factors behind the great success of NHZs during the past 20 years, and put forward five key questions for the future development: how to steer NHZs into the future; where is the strategic space of development of NHZs in the next decade or more; how to maintain the present advantages and create new advantages; what kind of roles shall NHZs play in the new situation; and how to realize the new strategic goals.

Vice Minister of MOST DU Zhanyuan addressed the event. He also held discussions with representatives of 56 NHZs.

The next meeting will be held in Hangzhou.
