MOST Vice Minister CAO Jianlin met with visiting GE Lighting President Michael Petras on March 24 in Beijing. The two sides exchanged ideas on deepening cooperation between China and the US in LED lighting.
VM CAO underlined that given the Chinese government’s great attention to the development of energy-efficient lighting industry, MOST has carried out LED lighting project in dozens of cities in China; and LED is also on the list of strategic new industries in the S&T blueprint in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan. He hoped GE can expand cooperation with China in this regard.
President Petras said GE Lighting has given top priority to the application of LED technology in its cooperation with China’s pilot cities. He also expressed his willingness to strengthen cooperation with China in LED, substitutes for incandescent bulbs, horticulture lighting, and the like.
