The 2nd International Symposium on Jerusalem Artichoke was held on Oct. 21，2010 in Nanjing. Domestic and foreign experts from the US, Russia, India, Czech, Australia, Eritrea, etc. had in-depth discussions on 6 themes, including the breeding of Jerusalem Artichoke, introduction of new species, large-scale planting, and production techniques of inulin, fructose, fuel ethanol, mannitol, chlorogenic acid, sorbierite, etc. Participants also discussed the possibility of establishing a business-academia-research alliance for Jerusalem artichoke and paid a visit to the Demonstration Base of Jerusalem artichoke in Laizhou, Shandong Province.
