MOST Carry out Joint Inspections on Pilot Innovative Enterprises

In order to turn enterprises into major players in technical innovation, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) have decided to carry out joint inspections and research in pilot innovative enterprises.

On August 16,2006, Vice Minister LI Xueyong of MOST, Vice Chairman SHAO Ning of SASAC and Vice Chairman ZHOU Yuqing of ACFTU have jointly led an inspection team to visit three of the first group of pilot innovative enterprises, namely, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, State Grid Corporation of China and Beijing Xinwei Telecom Technology Inc.

During the inspection, Heads of the enterprises have expressed their wish to grasp the opportunities in the first group of pilot projects and meet the requirement of project plan and promote the corporate innovation to a new high, so as to make due contributions to the shift of economic growth model and building an innovative China.

Leaders of MOST, SASAC and ACFTU stressed that the shift of national economic growth pattern relies on whether the majority of enterprises could grow through technical innovation. The pilot enterprises should serve enterprise-initiated innovation in two aspects:

1.       to create a favorable policy environment;

2.       to integrate all factors of technical innovation in the society by allocating resources and help enterprises to improve their innovative capability.

MOST, SASAC and ACFTU will carry out similar inspections and research in the first group of pilot enterprises, provide joint guidance and help fully carry out the pilot projects nationwide.
