The feasibility study was conducted on the State Key Lab of Virtual Reality Technology by the Department of Basic Research on September 27, 2007 in Beijing.

The expert panel unanimously consented to the lab construction plan, proposed a new name of “Virtual Technology and System”, streamlined and prioritized research orientations. It was also suggested to step up international cooperation and introduction of top-caliber talents from abroad.
