June 10 of 2008 marked a decisive victory against the Tangjiashan quake lake crisis in Sichuan. On June 14, the 11th meeting of the Quake Lake Emergency Command Department was held in Chengdu by the Sichuan government and the Ministry of Water Resources. Silk Banners were awarded by Sichuan Governor JIANG Jufeng and Minister CHEN Lei of Water Resources to those who had done excellent jobs. Awardees included the Committee on Water Resource of Yangtze River, the Chengdu Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Department of Hi-Tech Development and Industrialization of MOST.
