2010 Sino-Australia Young Scientists Exchange Program Launched

2010 Sino-Australia Young Scientists Exchange Program was launched on Sept. 13 of 2010 in Beijing. This program was initiated according to the Action Plan on  Sino-Australia Young Scientists Exchange Program between MOST and Australian Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations during Chinese Premier WEN Jiabao’s visit to Australia in 2006. The program selects 8 excellent young scientists from both countries for a 2-week-exchange every year, in order to facilitate scholastic exchanges and lay solid ground for long-term cooperation between China and Australia.

This year 8 young scientists are selected from a host of famous Australian universities such as the University of Melbourne, the University of New South Wales, and the University of Queensland. They specialize in research of solar technology, nano materials, optical communications, etc. They will carry out research with Chinese counterparts from over 30 Chinese host universities and institutes such as Tsinghua University, South China University of Technology,  Xi' an Jiaotong University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
