The Agreement on S&T Cooperation between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia was signed officially in Addis Ababa on October 28th, 2011. On behalf of the governments of the two sides, Vice Minister Zhang Laiwu and Ethiopian State Minister for Science and Technology Mohamuda Ahmed Gass signed the agreement.

The two sides reached consensus on the importance of science and technology in sustaining growth and the necessity to enhance China-Ethiopia cooperation, particularly in high-tech and applied technology to promote mutual development and address common challenges induced by globalization.
