Vice Minister Cao Meets with Finnish Ambassador to China

 

On November 26, Vice Minister Cao Jianlin met with Finnish Ambassador to China Jari Gustafsson. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation on science, technology and innovation.
Vice Minister Cao noted that Finland, a world-renowned country for innovation, is one of China’s close partners in science and innovation, and the two countries have generated fruitful results in a number of areas. In October this year, Finland was the guest of honor for Pujiang Innovation Forum. Representatives from governments, enterprises, universities and research institutes of both countries discussed cooperation in knowledge, human resources, industry and innovation system, and reached consensus in a range of areas. The China-Finland Nano Innovation Center, jointly built by MOST and Finland’s Ministry of Employment and the Economy, has been operating smoothly. In the future, China and Finland will enhance joint work in Arctic research, and encourage SMEs of both countries to form synergy in clean technologies. Vice Minister Cao is expecting greater achievements in bilateral scientific and technological cooperation, which will surely facilitate economic and social progress of the two countries.
Ambassador Jari Gustafsson agreed that science and innovation is an important pillar of China-Finland relations, and the whole society of Finland is fully aware of the importance of working with China. The Ambassador expressed his commitment to promote sound cooperation between the two countries and achieve win-win outcomes.
